Executive Summary

This interactive e-course was created to instruct real estate agents on the four basic steps for creating effective property listings. An effective listing is essential for catching the attention of potential buyers and will contribute to the success of a realty company. During this course, the learner will be a novice real estate agent learning to create property listings. Experienced real estate agent, Amy, will mentor the learner by providing guidance and sharing her successful personal experiences. 

Challenges

Many of the steps for creating effective property listings are hands on and real world based. Ideally, a new real estate agent would learn these skills in-person with an experienced agent by their side. However, that is not always possible in the busy world of real estate. This leaves novice agents to either figure out how to create effective listings on their own or outsource description writing to a professional copywriter.  

Solution

To address these issues, we created an interactive e-course using Lectora. This course features vivid and immersive illustrations along with game user experience to give the course a “real world” feel. The learner will be given many opportunities to apply their knowledge and receive immediate feedback throughout the learning experience. The realistic scenarios will allow them to train their eye and sharpen their skills without ever needing to leave the office. 

Results

The engaging content will hopefully motivate learners to complete the entire training. Upon completion, an agent’s confidence in their ability to craft effective property listings should increase. Having a designated course for this skill should also release experienced agents of the responsibility of training new hires. Ultimately, this course should equip agents with the knowledge and skills necessary to create attention-grabbing property listings so that they can gain repeat clients and investors.

The purpose of this fillable demographic card is to help agents gather basic demographic information on their target audience. A vague listing description written without a target audience in mind may not inspire anyone to inquire about a property. Filling out this card will enable agents use what they have acquired to tailor their listing description to fit their ideal potential buyer. Executive Summary

The purpose of this Instructor Led Training was to provide novice and experienced real estate agents with helpful tips and formulas for writing engaging property descriptions and headlines. Many real estate agents face writers block, feel pressed for time, or do not feel creative enough to put effort into their listing descriptions. This training takes the guess work out of writing descriptions so that agents can quickly craft them without the stress.

Challenges

Since writing listing descriptions is a task that most agents do not enjoy or feel motivated to do, it was a challenge to come up with a training solution that would be engaging, inspiring, and easy to retain. 

Solution

To address this challenge, we created an Instructor Led Training with eye-catching presentation slides. The accompanying participant guide was designed to keep learners busy and engaged during the lecture. Once filled out, the participant guide doubles as a job aid that agents can use after the training has ended. Near the end of the training, agents will have the opportunity to write their own description and receive constructive feedback from peers and the instructor. This will hopefully reinforce their new knowledge and give them a chance to test out their new skills in a controlled environment.

Results

Completing this course should increase a real estate agent’s confidence with writing listing descriptions. The goal is also to decrease the amount of time spent creating listings so that they are able to put their energy towards other tasks.
